So I am seriously contemplating taking our Christmas tree down early. Owen just won't leave it alone. Ether that or maybe I will just put all the ornaments away. He started just taking off the ones he could reach and calling them spaceships or planes(I am gonna blame the startrek tree for that one.) To prevent having broken glass everywhere. As he takes them off I have been puting them up high ontop of the TV. So now the tree is nearly empty and he is going out of his way to try to reach the ones on top. Which resulted in his tipping the whole thing over this morning and having broken glass all over my front room. I have been trying the naughty chair, and even telling him how we are gonna have to take the tree down and santa won't know where to put his presents. Anyway, I am pissed. Any suggestions?

Good Luck! Just put all the decorations away and try again next year. Maybe he can help you put them back on Christmas Eve so it looks pretty for pictures the next morning.
I can't believe this is the first that I have heard of this. I must thank you for not calling me at work to complaining about this.
Don't worry. I'll put my belt to Owen later tonight. That will learn him good.
Hmmm. That's weird Darth that you have not noticed that there are only decorations on the top left side of the tree.It has only been that way for maybe 4 days. You are usually very observant. Like no salt katsup. You are a noticer. Plus it is directly next to where you sit to hang out with your best friend TV. Still nothing?
Three Words: Plastic. Ikea. Ornaments. Takes the stress out of it. Lucas left the tree alone this year. It was guapo who went for the "balls." Good luck!
Have you tried sending him a letter from Santa? In it, Santa could tell him to stop messing with the tree . . . or else!
I hear ya! My tree is really sad too! We bought a real tree this year and its already almost dead and the decorations are either destroyed by my little terrors or now off the tree. If you come to a conclusion let me know. I think I might make a children's oriented tree next year just for them to play with and destroy so its not so stressful?
I say put the naughty chair in the middle of all the glass and let him learn about cause and effect.
I left everything breakable in the box this year. And then I made a point of putting a few bells right where Roman would see them - the bells is pretty much all he touches. But I am surprised, I thought he would be much worse. Good luck!
This year Nina is just re-arranging the ornaments. Only one has been broken. Big improvement from last year, and the year before. I don't remember what I did before this year. Maybe it was so stressful it's caused memory loss. The plastic ornaments thing sounds good.
I didn't put an ornaments on my tree. I put lights on, and a holly berry garland (sp?) around the stem of the tree. I also shoved some pinecones in there. I put like two glass ornaments at the top of the tree. Miles hasn't been a problem. I figure I can decorate it with things that the kids make in school when that time comes.
That is highly frustrating. I am sorry. Ours just had lights for a while. Then when we did add balls, within two minutes one was smashed with dangerous shards of glass everywhere. I give up on trees. Ian has taken over.
Just go to walmart, dollarstore, or kmart and get the fake ornaments that are plastic or Styrofoam
Why is it that the tree has to go? Why not the brat kid who won't leave it alone? :)
my solution was to not put up a tree. bahumbug.
Cutler did this last year, and still takes the ornaments off this year. Last year I moved them all to where he couldn't reach them, which would be my suggestion, but sounds like you've tried that and it still didn't work. Just think, Christmas is almost here now, and at least you've have a tree up!!
