Fitness Fanatic

So it's no big surprise that Spencer has become quite the little athlete.  Here are a few of his recent races!

We obviously did this one together.  It's a long story but I ended up doing the last half with a broken hand.  Spencer did awesome!  I finished, which was awesome!

 ST. GEORGE MARATHON

the kids made this sign for DAD!

We had a really fun time watching all the runners.  The boys were a little bored after about the 5000th runner, and found ways to entertain themselves, in the middle of the street:)

Owen decided to give himself a haircut the day before.  He looked pretty great, and I wondered why I hadn't done it sooner.

Mile 26

Spencer and the boys just after he said "I'm NEVER doing that again"

I love how miserable and hot the boys looked.  They were sitting in the shade for the 4 hours that Spencer was running.  Big Babies.

Cathie came down to support Spencer and to help me entertain the kids,  Thanks!

 Finishing Strong

 enjoying some post-race snacks

When we were walking back to the car the boys were being cute.

The Company Lagoon Day

Back in August we went to Lagoon with Spencer's work.  It was pretty awesome.  I think the boys are at the best ages for total Lagoon enjoyment!

Spencer took the boys on the Tidal Wave.  I thought this was a BAD idea.  They lived.  Turns out I am still the biggest scaredy-cat in the family.

Owen and I made out on the skyride!
I didn't get so lucky with Eli, he was pooped!

The next night we went to Cherry hill camping with Spencer's Family.  This is the one and only picture I took of the camping trip.

Scofield Triathlon

July 17th was not THAT long ago, right?  Well that is the day Spencer did the Scofield Triathlon.  He did the Olympic Distance,  it was 1.5 K (1 mile) Swim in open water, a 40 K (25 miles) bike, and a 10 K (6.2 miles) Run.   Here are his results:  over all finnish time of 3 hours and 30 seconds!  Here is how it broke down:  Swim 33 min 10 sec, Bike 1hr 21min 02 sec, Run 58 min, 58sec.
He did Amazing!  My favorite part of this triathlon was the fact that the boys stayed at grandma's house therefore I was able to really watch the whole thing.  For example, I went out on a dock to watch the swim!  Had my boys been there they would have for sure jumped or fell in the water.  Thanks Scott and Cathie for keeping the boys overnight.

Go Spencer!
P.S. less than 3 weeks till the Marathon!  I'm not gonna lie to you and say I am not super excited to have Saturday mornings back, that is until he starts his training for this!

new sleeping arrangements

A few months back we moved Eli into the bottom bunk.  Within a few weeks Owen decided that he wanted to sleep down on the bottom bunk too.  I am pretty sure it is just so they can keep each other up giggling and such.  The thing that puzzles me is why anyone would want to share a bed with this wiggle worm!?!

big-o-melons

we waited very patiently for our first watermelon to be ripe!  the boys were super excited to cut into it!  it was pretty tasty too.
